William O. "Bill" 79 of New Castle, PA died Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Born in Clifton, he resided Lyndhurst and Coplay, PA before moving to New Castle, PA last year. A 1950 graduate of CHS and a graduate of Teterboro School of Aeronautics, Bill was employed as a transportation analyst for the Fuller Company FLS in Bethlehem, PA prior to his retirement in 1996. Previously, he had been employed by F.L. Smith Co. in Cresskill, NJ. Bill is a 56 year member of Clifton Masonic Lodge, a member of the Clifton Craftsmen's Club, the Lyndhurst Masonic Club and the Valley of Northern NJ Scottish Rite. He is also a Past Master Counselor of Clifton Chapter Order of De Molay. Bill is a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, who served with the 70th Tank Battalion, with the 1st Cavalry Division as an aircraft mechanic and flew reconnaissance missions. Bill is a member of VFW Post # 7293 in New Egypt, PA. He is a former member of both Calvary Baptist Church in Clifton and Hope Lutheran Church in Cherryville, PA. Bill is predeceased by two brothers, Robert W. and Albert W. Vreeland. He is survived by a son, Kip William Vreeland of Darnestown, MD, by a daughter, Kimberley Ann Delmar of Moorestown, by five grandchildren and by his former wife, Anita J. (Richards) Vreeland. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Saturday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Road, Clifton followed by burial at Laurel Grove Memorial Park. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM with a Masonic Service at 8PM. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Scottish Rite Learning Centers, 301 Forest Rd., Scotch Plains, NJ 07076
